Cape Town Convention Centre Expansion Plans

Construction work is expected to commence by mid-2013, and will be completed at the end of 2015. The development will cost approximately R4.5 billion, adding an additional 49 000m⊃2; of lettable space to the Cape Town Convention Centre (CTICC). CTICC management have already secured the 10 000-delegate strong 35th International Geological Congress for August 2016, which will require use of the full expanded convention space soon to be built. At Biological Psychiatry currently on in Stellenbosch Pharmaplan teamed up with Operation Shoebox to create an activity for delegates to participate in.           At medical congresses delegate participation in activities is big in South Africa. Pharmaplan SASUOG Expo Stand

Based on a 6m x 2m floorspace this expo stand was an offshoot of an exhibit built previously for the Gyneacology division of Pharmaplan. It made use of existing graphic panels.  Products on display included Smecta, Linola, Cosmofer, Cathejell and Lomexin. SASUOG was held at the Upper Eastside Hotel in Woodstock, Cape Town. Our largest project of the year to date. Pfizer took the main hospitality suite at SASMO/ SASCRO Oncology medical congress in August.  This entailed treating the entire stage at the Sun City Superbowl. We chose a concept that was quick to install. All external walls where inflatable and internally lit with colour changing LED lighting. Both stand builders and other contractors as well as exhibitors are constantly besieged. As a stand building company we constantly have a steady trickle of theft onsite. Occasionally one comes across a furnishing company that has mind-blowing pieces. It’s the stuff that Interior Designers, Architects and those with taste dream about. The Modern Garden Company in Cape Town is one of those companies with just such furnishings. No doubt the price tags are probably not to most of our palettes, but its great to look at. Eye-candy for designers. I will for one will be looking for future projects where I can acquire a decent budget to use such items as these.  

Pharmaplan SASMO congress

Hott3D produced 2 large exhibition stands for Pharmaplan and Merck as well as a huge Hospitality zone for Pfizer at SASMO/ SASCRO Oncology congress held at Sun City last week. All 3 exhibits were produced seamlessly despite the huge effort required in both pre-production and onsite.
