What are the key aspects of this job making the stand at WTM2022 possible?
“This project was a team effort, from collaborating with Kilowatt AV & their client, to working with my Designer & Production crew, without which we would not be able to pull this off…. it’s so good to finally be back in the game at WTM2022, bring on the next one!!!”
How would you say this important project came about?
“I was approached by Kilowatt AV to come up with a creative stand design for their CoCT client at WTM Africa, as we have worked together with Kilowatt AV on numerous projects over the years, they knew we were the best company for the job & capable of designing a “Show Stopper” stand & also getting this important project done for their client to the standard they’re used to.”
What was the key idea behind the design of the City of Cape Town’s exhibition stand at World Travel Market?
“The main idea for their design was to have a stand that could incorporate the City of Cape Town’s six elements Visit, Live, Play, Study, Invest & Work. So we needed to create a layout that could feature all these zones, including a private meeting room. The design concept we came up with by having a central boardroom & feature walls worked well with the stand size & configuration.”
What were the important elements that you needed to include in the stand design and why?
“We also needed to design something that had a Park theme, bringing the outdoors indoors. Sustainability was also a key feature, as most of the elements we used on the stand were repurposed after the event.”
Why was this such an important project to HOTT3D, Cape Town and the Tourism Industry as a whole?
“This was really a great project for us to work on, as this particular event was important for the Tourism Industry rebooting & the fact that exhibitions & events are taking place again – which is a good thing for HOTT 3D & the professional events Industry!”
You can be proud of the fact that the stand won the best stand award at WTM2022 – What was the part of the project that you enjoyed the most?
“I was very proud of the way the stand turned out & the fact that we won the best stand award was amazing. I was also very stoked to personally meet our Mayor, who officially opened WTM Africa show by cutting the ribbon on our CoCT stand.”
